Met up with Ronni and Nick at the studio and gave the rhythm tracks a final listen to help plan what is to come. We also did some vocal testing of my new Shure SM7B microphone and I have to say that it passed every test with flying colors, including Nick’s impersonations of Elvis Costello, James Hetfield and Meatwad.

The predetermined plan was to attack any tunes requiring Nick’s Wurlitzer 200A, and that’s what we did! “Sunrise”, “Blue” and “Goodbye Song” all received a dose of vintage vibe with yours truly tickling the ivories. Well, maybe I didn’t tickle them as much as I simply beat them into submission. At any rate, the part we added to “Goodbye Song” materialized out of nowhere and is now the end refrain that will anchor the fadeout… I love when that happens! Later, Ronni and I tried out some string patches and guitar tones, but it was too late for us to track anything else.
